Hi! I'm Rebecca and I have been professionally working with dogs for 5 years doing a variety of roles in the animal care industry.
My first ever job was working as a Vet Assistant in a vet clinic back in 2016. There I learnt a lot about general care and practices for a happy and healthy animal.
In 2019 and 2020, I was a casual House and Pet Sitter throughout both Canada and New Zealand. Looking after both cats and dogs in peoples homes while they were away on holiday. This allowed to me travel the country and get my dose of animals when I didn't have any of my own.
In 2021 and 2022, I worked full-time as a Dog Handler and Puppy Development trainer at a dog day care in the North Shore. There I learnt the most about dogs and all the types of breeds. Including how they interact, how to safely handle them and how to read body language.
At the end of 2021 until 2023, I worked for Training Dogs For Life as a puppy class assistant and occasionally ran the classes myself. There I learnt a ton about training methods, how to raise and shape a well mannered dog and truly became passionate about dog training.
As of January 2023, I started working full-time for myself. Starting with my pack walking service to now offering other services as well. And man do I love my job!
In 2025, Wild and Waggin' will become a family run business. My husband, Damian, will be joining in on the action as a doggy bus driver, professional pat giver and treat dispenser.
My 1-year-old daughter is just an apprentice and makes brief appearances. She absolutely adores joining in on the Small Dog Social Club days. She finds it incredibly entertaining and will go about her own business in the dirt and water alongside your pups.
By signing your dog up, you are not only making your dogs day but also ours. We are incredibly appreciative to all of our clients for supporting our small business.
Sansa is my 2-year-old White Swiss Shepherd. We participate in a variety of dog sports, including scent work, obedience and agility. She doesn't qualify for the Small Dog Social but don't fret! She does get to play with friends of her own.
Zelie is our cat and if she could, she would participate in the club days. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees that cats are friends!
I hold a Pet First Aid Certificate and carry a pet first aid kit with me. Your dogs safety is utmost priority. We have emergency protocols in place and are ready to take whatever action is necessary to ensure the safety of all the pups in our care.
I have completed the Dog Psychology, Behaviour & Training course through The Career Academy. I am actively broadening and enhancing my knowledge everyday through researching science-based and evidence-based methods of training.
